Crunchyroll Anime Awards – How I’m voting part 2

We’re back with my second picks of Crunchyroll’s anime awards for 2017. If you haven’t looked at my first 7 then please make sure to check it out before delving into the second half! I’m going to simply say which is my pick and why so if you want to view all the contestents please head over to https://theanimeawards.com

If there’s a category where I’ve seen none of the contenders then I will not be talking about that category. Categories I don’t know about are Best Manga, Best Continuing Series and Best Ending

All votes are personal opinion and deep bias for My Hero Academia

Best Action – My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia vs Attack on Titan is what this came down too for me and whilst A.O.T season 2 was pretty good I still manage to poke flaws (such as casually announcing you’re the main villains) and problems in how A.O.T is written and certain dramatic scenes were overshadowed by these sad flaws where as My Hero Academia managed to keep it’s action as action which I appreciated just a bit more than A.O.T

Best Animation – My Hero Academia

The fight between Todoroki and Deku made this a sure fire thing, but then you add in the Uraraka vs Bakugo or Bakugo vs Todoroki fight and you can’t really deny My Hero Academia the win here.

Best Score – Re:Creators

Even if My Hero Academia was in this category I wouldn’t be able to give it to this. Re:Creators score done by the fantastic and renowned Hiroyuki Sawano and his amazing cinematic feel in his music is just unavoidable. Re:Creators honestly deserved a lot more love on this list than it got but due to it not being in any of the other categories so far sadly hasn’t hit it.

Best CGI – Re:Creators

Re:Creators had fantastic use of CGI and every fight scene and cinematic looked simply fantastic, Troyca have really come into their own since Aldnoah.Zero and I look forward to their fantastic CG in future projcets.

Best Anime Film – Your Name

Honestly, Your Name is simply beautiful. Holding some fantastic art work, well written characters and a plot that is fun and well written for it’s audience. I really enjoyed Your Name and if you haven’t managed to lay your eyes on this fantastic movie or infact it’s GORGEOUS soundtrack then I recommend you stop whatever your doing and go and watch this film.

Best Opening – Attack on Titan

This one was tough. Because not only is My Hero Academia shooting in strong here with Peace Sign, I then had to contend this one with Here from The Aincent Magus Bride but honestly nothing can outstrip the pacing, epicness and feeling that Shinzou wo Sasageyo! from Attack on Titan gave me for 12 straight weeks in a row.

Anime of the year – My Hero Academia

5 Categories winning, fan apraisal through the roof and Tsuyu in the cast My Hero Academia is of course what I’m picking as my Anime of the Year. Combining stella visuals with well written shonen characters and good story and pacing My Hero Academia has been a fantastic series this year and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Well that’s that wrapped for another year, whilst My Hero Academia was a sure win for me and I appreciate some will look at it as fan hyping I genuinely think it deserved every win it got in all of these categories because of just how well it’s put together. Thanks again and remember to tweet us on twitter.
