So, I’ve enjoyed Rocket League on PC for a few years, but I’ve just picked up the Switch version and I’m very pleased with it! It’s nice to be able to play Rocket League on my 40 inch tv or in my bed as opposed to my smaller PC screens. Now, normally a console version could be argued as inferior to the PC version with it’s less powerful graphics. However, Consoles always have the advantage of being able to do things like couch gaming and an easier setup. However with the Switch version you take a harder graphical hit for gaining being able to take the game anywhere. I’m here today to talk about 4 reasons why Rocket League on Nintendo Switch is definitely worth picking up!
Local Rocket League
I know split screen multiplayer has been in Rocket League for ages so that’s not what I’m referring to. But being able to take my Switch into my Brothers room and sit next to him as we both play Rocket League together but get the full switch screen to ourselves is great. I know other people getting it so the idea of being able to sit in a cafe or restaraunt and play Rocket League with some mates. Sounds pretty rad to me.
This one is pretty awesome and something that sadly Playstation 4 players of the game are missing out on. Rocket League on Switch also works with Rocket League on Xbox One and Rocket League on Steam (PC). This not only means I can match up with a huge group of players on other consoles but it also means that I can sit and chill with friends who have it on PC in private matches and no one has to buy special versions for specific consoles. Everyone can play (Except PS4 players).
The Mario NSR and Luigi NSR are cool, it’s fun to be able to race around the pitch as everyone’s faviroute brothers in a whole new setting but what’s even cooler and I’m yet to unlock is the Samus Gunship cars. These cars add just a splash of Nintendo to a fantastic game.
Portable Rocket League
This is the biggest and coolest thing but being able to take the game anywhere. I sat in Burger King earlier with a friend and we played for an hour or so of just straight 1v1 against each other. Rocket League on the go is amazing but what’s even cooler is the fact that when I go travelling on various work trips I’ll be able to sit in my Hotel Room and play my faviroute rocket propelled car sports game with all my buddies at home.
