Time to unwind- My top 5 things to do.

Hi guys! Back again, sorry it’s been so long! I’ve had the most hectic few weeks since I’ve been back at university. So I thought, what better to write about then finding time. Not just to write, but for yourself and your significant other.

Honestly, I’m the worst person ever for time management. So much so that it’s 11:33AM as I write this, and I’m still laying in bed! But as I said, it’s about finding time, and if that means only just waking up and writing my blog post then that’s just what I’m going to do.

So here is a list of my top 5 things to do when I’ve found the time to unwind!

Yep, sleep. You read it right. I, like a lot of other people, really love my bed! But, if like me, you are having a bit of mad time with university, then an extra 40 winks is sometimes the best remedy. Just make sure you set an alarm! Because not setting one is always my biggest mistake, and then I end up sleeping for wayyyyy longer then I should have.

2) Binge watching classic Tv shows/ Films

The internet is a god send sometimes when you want some unwinding time. I personally really enjoy binge watching The Simpsons, Futurama, Scooby Doo and other animated films. I even have a guilty pleasure for Hells Kitchen. For me, it’s just a nice time to sit back, relax and re-live some classic moments or in some cases laugh at others misfortunes (I know how horrible that sounds) just so you know you’re not the only one having a hard time. For me it’s a perfect escape, especially for a night time wind down session before going to sleep. Besides who doesn’t enjoy Gordon Ramsey telling people ‘Its F*****g RAW!’  It’s just something that never gets old!

3) Playing Xbox/ Video games.

This isn’t something I do often. Sometimes I play alone and other times I play with my partner, and it is enjoyable. Who doesn’t love shooting some zombies every so often? However, after a while I find that it does get stressful, so I usually keep gaming sessions to no more than 2 hours before most likely switching to watching The Simpsons.

4) Cuddle Time

If, like me, you have a significant other, cuddle time is a must. Sometimes you just need the undivided attention of your significant other. For me it’s just a nice moment to forget about all your worries, talking to your significant other in order to get your thoughts out in the open with your other half is nice. You know you’re not stressing alone and, let’s be honest, cuddles make everything better.

5) Cooking

Okay, I’ll own up and say sometimes I find cooking to be tedious and annoying and I just don’t want to do it. But sometimes I really enjoy cooking with or for my other half, or even myself. Sometimes it’s just something simple, like something with pasta. And other times it is a beautiful Thai green curry or jerk chicken. The times where I can put the effort in are my favourites, because I’d be lying if  I said it doesn’t give me a sense of achievement and also tastes divine.

So there is my list of top 5 things to do to help unwind. For me. They work perfectly.
