Top 10 Nintendo Direct Spotlights

It’s that time of the year again, the time when Nintendo graces us with a glorious Nintendo Direct and here you will find my top list of the top 10 things that came from Nintendo’s September direct. These will be written in time order as opposed to the order of which was coolest!

3DS/2DS Variants – Pokeball 2DS and SNES 3DS

The Pokeball 2DS and SNES 3DS look awesome. We already knew about the SNES 3DS which looked cool but the Pokeball 2DS for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon made me excited.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 finally got a release date of December 1st and I’m so happy, this game is going to be such an exciting experience to play on my Switch and the collector’s edition and Pro controller look amazing too.

Snipperclips 2 DLC

I’ve really enjoyed playing the original Snipper clips with my girlfriend! It’s a fun game with lots of challenging moments so the fact that this game will be receiving a DLC update with more stages is an exciting moment for me! It means more screaming at each other as everything goes wrong!

Skyrim on Switch

It’s Skyrim! This one isn’t particularly up my alley but I know Skyrim on Switch is a hot and exciting thing for many people! A release date I’m sure means a lot and Nintendo delivered announcing it’ll be released on Nintendo Switch on the 17th of November!

Doom

Okay, this one got me. My friend has been begging me to play Doom for ages and now I have another good game to catch up on when I make my trips across the country on Coaches. 5 Hours of rocking through Doom sounds like a fun way to spend a Friday and I’m looking forward to all the demon killing action.

Breath of the Wild Amiibo

The Champion Amiibo will launch this November and they add some cool new head gear based on their related divine beast! Some of the concept art looks really cool and I’m looking forward to walking around with Hyrule as an Elephant.

Project Octopath Traveler

Honestly, this game is so pretty. It just looks pretty. Project Octopath Traveler is letting players choose from 8 heroes to explore 8 different lands, it has many cool features and is getting a demo on the Switch today. A game I’m definitely looking forward to spending some time exploring. The game is also a Switch exclusive.

Kirby Star Allies

4 Player Kirby action. The game looks amazing, silly and fun. I’m looking forward to getting some mates round and destroying trees and enemies as a Squad. If you’re on your own you can add enemies as your allies instead of friends… if you don’t have any. If you have friends they will control your captured allies instead.

Super Mario Odyssey

We learnt the story of why Cappy is joining Mario. I don’t want to spoil but it is pretty sweet! There’s a bunch of mini games, the world map is huge and the new areas announced look really fun. Super Mario Odyssey is definitely an experience I’m looking forward to. Hopefully, you are too!

But what did you think of Nintendo’s Direct? I personally wanted more mention of Media apps and other Quality of Life updates but we didn’t get these. What did the direct miss for you? Please tweet us on Twitter!
