EXO unleashes their full ‘Power’ in latest gaming inspired music video

Korean boyband EXO has comeback with a quirky and fun music video for their new single “Power” which was released on Tuesday. Watch as the members become gamer heroes who go to war with gigantic robots to regain their lost powers (just imagine power rangers, haha). There is also an English opening before the song starts so you don’t have to worry about reading English subtitles for this MV!

During my first listen of the song, I was very surprised on the style and beat of the song as they usually have a more serious and sexy image, whereas “Power” is very cartoony and comic-like. I thought the song was okay at first but after listening to it again I grew to like it. During their live performances on music shows you can see by their expressions that they were enjoying themselves which of course makes me enjoy it more!

The new single is part of the Power of Music album which has just recently been released and features two other songs; “Sweet Lies” and “Boomerang”. The teaser images that were released were very similar to the style of Star Wars and X-Men and their album cover has the art style used mostly in comics.

EXO’s songs are usually very upbeat and fits in with what a typical K-Pop track would most likely sound like. “Power” has a fast tempo and is a track that you would probably hear in clubs if any of them decide to play any K-Pop (please, that would be incredible!).

To give you a brief background of who EXO is, they are a Korean and Chinese boy group based in South Korea and are formed by S.M Entertainment in 2011. Originally they started with a total of 12 members which then separated into two sub groups; EXO-K and EXO-M and they perform music in both Korean and Mandarin respectively. Currently there are nine members left after three left and their names are: Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Kai, D.O, Chanyeol and Sehun. However Lay was not in the production of the group’s album as his commitments in China overlapped with EXO’s comeback. Don’t worry I won’t be able to point out who’s who during the music videos as I am still learning who is who!

So yeah, I have started to be a little addicted to the song as well as the visually attractive group of males shooting guns at giant robots! If you want to see the MV for yourself or see their live performance then the links are below:

If you are a fan of K-Pop make sure to comment who your favourite groups are and what songs I should talk about next!

See you in the next post~
