Oh boy. Beyond the Wall was exciting. Before I begin to discuss the episode I want to give everyone a massive spoiler warning, if you haven’t seen Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 then you will want to run away from this article.
Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 Beyond the wall sets up an amazing amount of events for both the end of the season and for the future seasons. Daenerys finally meets the White Walkers, Jon finally captures one and we learn how dangerous the Night king really is.
The episodes biggest and most emotional moment was watching the Night king kill a Dragon with an Ice spear. From the look on Dani’s face to the blood-curdling scream the dragon let out as it passed. Emotions ran high in this scene as the show for the first time truly showed that even the terrifying and nearly unyielding power of Dani’s dragons is nothing in the hands of the Night King.
I don’t think it needs to be said, but with a dragon dead beyond the wall, the night king now has a powerful resource in his army. The stage has been set for a war that will easily supersede the childish politics of Westeros to the real threat of the army of the dead.
Of course, this isn’t the only thing that happened in the episode, we saw Arya threaten Sansa as Little finger continues to drive the girls apart and we saw Tyrion battle to keep Dani on the straight and narrow. Many events have been set up and the culmination of how it will end is anyone’s guess at the moment.
For me this is the highest episode of the series, it might be my favourite episode of the whole show at the moment but I’ll have to give this some debate but from me this episode most definitely gets a 9/10 for not only what happened, but what it set up for the future of the show. We have reached a turning point in our favourite game and now all we can do is watch as they continue to play.
