Can you like makeup and be a gamer?

The answer is: of course you can!

I’ve heard/seen stupid stereotypes that if you like makeup then you surely can’t be a gamer, or that if you are, you’re doing it just to get attention from possible romantic partners and that you don’t actually know anything about gaming; that you’re a “fake”.

Quite frankly, this is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. I have always loved playing video games, starting with my beloved Spyro and Rayman games for Playstation 1. So I may not play Fifa every minute of the day or own a gaming PC, that doesn’t make me less of a gamer than someone who does. I don’t see the interest in playing Fifa and I can’t afford a gaming PC at this moment in time. I do however love playing video games with plot lines that are filled with action such as Uncharted and The Last of Us as well as open world games such as GTA V and Skyrim.

I also love playing with my makeup and trying out new looks. Now apparently that makes me a “fake gamer” because there’s absolutely no way someone who likes makeup could ever play video games, much less like them *eye roll*. There is no such rule that someone who wears makeup is automatically not allowed to wear makeup, and vice versa. I will sit and play a video game for hours while wearing a full face of makeup, or no makeup at all! That doesn’t make me any less of a gamer.

It’s 2017 guys, if you still believe that people who wear makeup don’t play video games then you need to wake up! Both makeup and gaming are communities that allow people that like the same things to come together and enjoy that hobby.
