I genuinely think I’m the only person I know that hasn’t watched the leaked Game of Thrones episode, that was leaked earlier this week. Not only for the reasons that I actually pay for a subscription to watch it in a better quality, but I feel that waiting like 10 days instead of 7 for the season finale would just be too much for me to cope with.
So, I have come up with a couple of successful ways I am avoiding all those ghastly spoilers that everyone seems to post on the internet, especially on social media. Please note though, these don’t always work for everyone, so if you are submitted to a spoiler then please direct your anger to the person who posted it and not me! – You’ll also be happy to know that this post will contain absolutely no season 7, episode 6 spoilers! – as for the rest, I can only apologise!
Social media blackout!
I know this isn’t ideal but one of the best ways to avoid spoilers is to completely avoid social media, if you’re a uni student this will also really help with focusing on what you’re actually supposed to be doing!
Avoid looking at theory blog posts and news articles…
These are normally full of spoilers and some articles don’t even label the spoilers! To stay safe, avoid reading articles that catch your eye regarding the show, you’ll only have yourself to blame if you read up the plots…
Don’t talk to people who’ve already watched it…
I don’t mean don’t talk to your friend at all, but if they mention it in a group and a conversation starts between friends then just walk away… walk slowly away. Or, tell them to stop until a time you’re not around or until you’ve seen it.
I know its tempting, but resist!
I’ve had so many people say to me “just watch it” or “you’ll regret it if you don’t” but if you’re committed enough to not watching it then stick to your guns, it will 100% be worth the wait to watch it in good quality and again, you wont have to wait more than a week for the next episode!
I look forward to hearing what you all think of the episode on Monday!
